I'm passionate not only about making music but also about empowering young musicians through my knowledge.
My private cello students have accomplished to enrol with renowned professors at German music universities. I have given cello masterclasses, e. g. at Deciso in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and assisting for Prof. Katharina Deserno.
Music is more than playing alone: I teach chamber music ensembles such as trios and quartets, e. g. repeatedly at Mit Musik-Miteinander at Kronberg Academy.
As a coach at Kronberg Academy, I train students to design and moderate interactive concerts for people with dementia.
And the whole picture: I lead improvisation workshops for finding fresh and creative approaches to making music, e. g. for Neue Philharmonie Lausitz and at Konzerthaus Dortmund.
What matters to me?
My approach to teaching music is holistic:
The continuous discovery of the physical properties of the cello goes hand in hand with the detailed elaboration of your own interpretation of a composition.
An in-depth study of cello technique combined with a structural understanding of music is essential. Additionally, I draw on insights from body-oriented approaches such as Alexander Technique and music physiology.
